American writer and speaker Mark Prensky defined "digital natives" as those born after the introduction of digital technologies and "digital immigrants" as those born before. For the first group, technology has been part of their daily life since birth and they think nothing of picking up every new invention that comes along. The digital immigrants on the other hand, have had to learn a new language as well as thinking and learning process. 
How children are learning today is very much dictated not only by the devices and tools they are learning with (inside the classroom and out), but also by the way these two groups communicate, tech and experience technology. 


Andrew Pickup is Microsoft Asia’s Senior Director of Communications and talks about how large corporations like Microsoft are investing in education around the globe. We also look at how tools like Skype are uniting classrooms from different continents. 

In his book Hybrid Reality, author and strategist Parag Khanna says that what we need more of today is not IQ or EQ, but rather TQ or technology quotient. He talks to me about today's generational differences with regards to communication and about technologically assisted evolution.



Hong Kong-based social media authority, author, speaker and parent Jay Oatway joins me  in the last segment and shares some of his favourite educational apps today.
