The Hong Kong table tennis world, which once lacked young successors, has now turned a new leaf. The local-trained table tennis athletes have recently been achieving good results in many competitions. 17-year-old DOO Hoi-kem has been ranking world number one in the under 18 category since 2011. Chan Kong-wah, the head coach of Hong Kong team, said that she would participate in the Asian Games in September and hopefully she could win a medal for Hong Kong.

The experienced Lee Ho Ching, decided to quit school and turn pro back then. DOO Hoi-kem, who was born and raised in Hong Kong, and ranked world number one in the under 15 category since 2010, became a full-time athlete last year.

DOO Hoi-kem started practicing table-tennis since she was very young. In 2009, when she was only 11, she was already ranked number three in Hong Kong in the under 15 category. She is good at fast-attack on both sides, and hopefully she can represent Hong Kong in the Asian Games.
